TDCI Hosts First Ever International Research Conference: Liyang 2019

Experts and learners in the fields of Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiologic Technology, and Medical Laboratory Science from the Philippines, Thailand, India, and Singapore gathered together for the first ever International Research Conference known as “Liyang 2019” with the theme: “Transformative, Research Towards Collaborative Healthcare Outcome.”
Organized by Tagum Doctors College, Inc. and Tagum Doctors Hospital, Inc, and endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Science and Technology, and Kagawaran ng Edukasyon, the event welcomed renowned personalities of Tagum City and Davao del Norte (DavNor) that was held at the DavNor Gymnasium of Tagum City.
Aside from the pre-conference workshops that were held on the 19th of November 2019 that featured Statistics and Epidemiology, Natural Products, Health Innovation, and Cancer Chemotherapy, the Liyang 2019 event included a Cultural Night on the eve of the 20th of November to showcase to the delegates from other countries the culture and traditions of the Philippines, specifically Mindanao.
The two-day conference featured various plenary talks that focused on the critical topics that the community’s medical experts were expected to know more about and develop, along with the Poster Evaluation and Exhibition competition that highlighted the skills and abilities of the presenters in the area of research presentation. The first Liyang also debuted the research conference’s official soundtrack composed by TDCI student Jeanne Nicci C. Orcena, arranged by students Felix Anthony A. Sevilles and Jorme L. Constancio, and sang by students Edrian Luga, Don Wilard Mahinay, Jerico Ojarda, Kianna Chiyanne Montanses, and Gwyneth Hontanosas.
